Fire safety technicians who are also firefighters may join the International Association of Fire Fighters (AFL-CIO). Other helpful organizations include the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Fire Sprinkler Association, and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, ASSP, NASP, and NFPA provide certification to fire safety technicians.
