Unions and Associations
Lifeguards and swimming instructors may be members of local unions that represent the interests of a wide range of professionals such as teachers, maintenance workers, or clerical staff. The United States Lifesaving Association is a membership organization for lifeguards. The American Red Cross offers certification, first aid and lifeguarding education, and other resources to lifeguards and swimming instructors.
