Political Speechwriters

Speechwriters do not have unions available to them. Associations specifically available for political speechwriters are sparse, but the National Association of Government Communicators is a professional organization that is open top federal, state and local government employees who "perform communications duties within a government entity, whether they are a public information officer, speechwriter, web master, social media expert, or any other role that advances the message of the agency or organization for which they work." It also offers membership categories for high school and college students. The American Association of Political Consultants and International Association of Business Communicators offer membership for students and professionals. Toastmasters International is a membership organization that helps members develop their public speaking, communication, and leadership skills.
