Theater managers may work in a variety of settings including large theaters, dinner theaters, regional theaters, summer stock theaters, university theaters, and others. Some work in theaters in hotels and casinos. Others may work in concert halls or other venues which put on an array of theatrical productions, concerts, and other types of events. Theater managers work long irregular hours and often work weekends, holidays, and evenings when theater-goers frequently attend shows. The environment at a theater may often be stressful before performances or when worrying that ticket sales are up to par and the theater is profitable.
