Dance School Owners and Managers

Overview

A growing number of people are becoming interested in taking dance lessons as a result of the popularity of television shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Ballroom Challenge, and Dancing with the Stars; an interest in becoming physically fit; and other factors. Dance school owners operate academies that teach dance moves and techniques to individuals and groups. These schools may focus on a specific dance genre—such as ballet or tap dance—or they may teach a variety of styles. Dance school managers oversee dance instructors and are responsible for the day-to-day operations of dance schools. They often serve as the liaison between customers and the dance school owner.
