Career and Employment Technicians

Overview

Career and employment technicians work closely with career and employment counselors to provide advice to individuals or groups about occupations, careers, career decision making, career planning, and other career developmentā€“related questions or conflicts. Career guidance technicians collect pertinent information to support both the counselor and applicant during the job search. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, as of May 2019, there were about 397,340 office clerks, a job that relates closely to career and employment technicians, employed in employment services, secondary schools, colleges, universities, and professional schools in the United States.
