Dance School Owners and Managers

Outlook

The dance studio industry generated $3.2 billion in 2024, a drop from $4 billion in revenue in 2018, according to the research firm IBISWorld. The pandemic caused a drop in dance school business due to business lockdowns and social distancing requirements in 2020 and 2021. Post pandemic, dance schools are recovering steadily and the demand for dance instruction is expected to grow through 2029. Social media platforms such as TikTok have also been generating more interest by younger people in learning how to dance. On the other hand, there is a lot of competition out there for the dollars of potential dance students, and many dance schools go out of business after a few years. Dance school owners with business acumen and strong name-recognition in their communities will have the best chance of having a successful business.
