Investment Banking Analysts

Earnings

Entry-level financial analysts earned salaries that ranged from $52,250 to $69,000 in 2025, according to the 2025 Robert Half Salary Guide for Accounting and Finance Professionals. The Department of Labor reported that financial and investment analysts earned about $99,010 per year in May 2023; salaries ranged from less than $60,830 to more than $175,840. Analysts also usually receive benefits such as paid vacation days and sick leave, health and life insurance, a 401(k) or other retirement savings plan, and signing and year-end bonuses. As a small token of appreciation for their 100-hour weeks, many investment banks provide dinner stipends and reimbursement for travel to and from work.

One thing to keep in mind is that although salaries for analysts are extremely high for those who are straight out of college, the number of hours one is required to work lessens the actual monetary value of the salary (if broken down to an hourly wage). On the other hand, the in-house and client connections and experience one obtains are often worth the time investment.
