Playwrights are often members of the Dramatist Guild (DG). The Guild offers assistance to members in a number of areas including business advice, internship opportunities, having plays read, contracts, and royalties. Individuals may also be members of the New Dramatist, a service organization for scriptwriters.
Individuals may additionally want to contact the Association of Writers and Writing Programs. This group provides support, advocacy, resources and community to writers, colleges and universities with writing programs and writers conferences and centers.
