E-Sports Professionals

Outlook

The viewing of e-sports gaming competitions and lifestyle gaming has become very popular in recent years. In 2022, there were 270.9 million e-sports viewers, and this number is expected to grow to more than 318 million by 2025, according to Statista.com. Worldwide revenue in the e-sports industry was $1.08 billion in 2021, according to market analytics company Newzoo. This number had grown to $1.8 billion in 2023, and is projected to grow at an annual rate of more than 18 percent from 2023 through 2032, reaching $8.2 billion by 2032, per a report by ResearchandMarkets.com. These statistics suggest that there is a bright future for highly skilled e-sports professionals who are also good at marketing themselves. Despite this prediction, it’s important to remember that only a very small number of people are talented and lucky enough to enjoy a full-time career as an e-sports professional. It’s a good idea to prepare for a fallback career in or out of e-sports so that you have a backup plan if you are unable to realize your e-sports competitive or streaming dreams.
