Instructional Designers

Unions and Associations

Instructional designers do not typically belong to unions, but several professional associations provide useful resources. For example, the Association for Talent Development, which has members in more than 120 countries, offers a job bank, provides membership, publishes TD at Work, and offers the certified professional in learning and performance credential, among other benefits. Other noteworthy organizations include the Instructional Technology Council, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, The Learning Guild, Learning Forward, and the Quality Matters Instructional Designers Association.
