Unions and Associations
Recycling and reclamation workers may belong to a union, such as the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, for advocacy for fair employment conditions and higher salaries for its members. They may become members of professional associations to receive access to education, training, certification, and other professional development resources. Useful organizations include the National Recycling Coalition, National Waste & Recycling Association, Recycled Materials Association, and the Solid Waste Association of North America.
