Overview

Methane/landfill gas generation system technicians are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the components of landfill gas collection systems. They operate and oversee methane/landfill gas collection and power generation systems, making adjustments and repairs as necessary. They make sure landfill gas is properly and efficiently converted to electricity or other forms of energy. There are approximately 13,000 plant and system operators employed in the United States.
