Overview

Hydropower electricity is electricity generated from water power found in rivers, streams, lakes, and ocean tides. Hydroelectric production managers oversee and maintain hydroelectric power generation facilities. They supervise production and operation workers and make sure the power plant equipment is operating efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. The National Hydropower Association reports that about 72,400 people are employed in the hydropower industry.
