Geothermal Technicians

Overview

Geothermal technicians perform technical duties at geothermal power plants or at individual installations. They monitor and adjust operating equipment and power production systems and identify and correct equipment malfunctions. They may work for commercial geothermal power facilities or install and maintain geothermal equipment for residences. Approximately 8,500 people are directly employed in the geothermal industry, according to the 2019 U.S. Energy Employment Report from the National Association of State Energy Officials
