They may also install fire alarm systems. They are responsible for maintaining security systems and repairing equipment as needed. They make sure the wiring that they do and the equipment they use meets industry codes. Approximately 71,600 security and fire alarm systems installers were employed in the United States in May 2019, as reported by the Department of Labor.
