Security Systems Installers and Workers

Outlook

The outlook for security systems installers and workers is bright. The Department of Labor predicts 10 percent employment growth, which is much faster than the average, through 2029. The security alarm services industry has been growing the past few years, with 2.7 percent annual growth from 2015 to 2020, and increased interest in security systems is expected to continue, according to IBISWorld. As the economy recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, which hurt industry revenues, growth is expected to continue through the mid-2020s. More companies also are investing in security systems. Stricter fire and safety regulations mandated by the government will also increase demand for security and fire alarm systems. Security systems prevent theft and lower insurance costs, making them attractive financial incentives for businesses. Also, technological advances in the industry now enable people to use security systems to monitor their homes from their computers and mobile devices; this is expected to increase the demand for security systems in the coming years.
