According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May 2024 the median annual earnings for salaried exercise trainers and group fitness instructors, the classification that includes yoga and Pilates instructors, were $46,180. Salaries ranged from less than $27,580 to $82,050 or more.
PayScale.com reports that yoga instructors earned a median salary of $58,552 per year in 2025. Earnings ranged from $31,679 to $129,750 or more.
A compensation survey by IDEA Health and Fitness Association reports that many employers offer health insurance and paid sick and vacation time to full-time employees. They also may provide discounts on products sold in the club (such as shoes, clothing, and equipment) and free memberships to use the facility.
