Unions and Associations
Archivists who work for government agencies can join the American Federation of Government Employees, a union that represents government workers. Many archivists join professional associations such as the Society of American Archivists, American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, Association of Moving Image Archivists, National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, and Council of State Archivists. The Association of Canadian Archivists represents the professional interests of archivists in Canada. The Academy of Certified Archivists provides certification.
