Nearly all states have at least one film commission that offers information on local productions and opportunities for actors and extras. Visit the Association of Film Commissioners International's Web site, http://www.afci.org, for information about more than 300 film commissions on six continents. Other ways to explore the work of film extras is to act in school drama productions; write, act in, and film your own movies; read books and visit Web sites about the film industry; and talk to film extras about the pros and cons of the field.
