Unions and Associations
The associations that are most relevant to nursing instructors are the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The ANA Web site has an entire section for educators that includes several online studies of interest to future nursing instructors. The AACN Web site devotes several of its online studies to the shortage of nursing instructors, including "Nursing Faculty Shortages". The AACN site also has a career link that leads to a description of a faculty development program. The Johnson & Johnson, Nursing Web site helps students find schools and scholarships that can provide a good foundation for future nursing instructor careers.
