Almost all public transportation operators belong to a union, such as the Transport Workers Union of America or the Amalgamated Transit Union. The American Public Transit Association is a group of public organizations, companies, and government agencies that are engaged in the areas of bus, paratransit, commuter rail, light rail, subways, waterborne passenger services, and high-speed rail. The National School Transportation Association is a professional organization for transportation-related private contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
