Many companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies have their own trucks, buses, cars, patrol cars, fire-fighting vehicles, and even heavy construction equipment (e.g., cranes, bulldozers). These vehicles and equipment are known as a fleet. Fleet maintenance technicians are skilled mechanics who repair and maintain these vehicles and equipment. Some work on just one type of vehicle, equipment, or system, while others are generalists. Fleet maintenance technicians are also known as fleet technicians and fleet maintenance mechanics.
