Fleet Maintenance Technicians

Work Environment

Fleet maintenance technicians work in garages or repair facilities where their company’s fleet is located. Some companies have multiple repair facilities, and technicians must travel to these locations, when needed. Since trucks, buses, bulldozers, and other vehicles and equipment can break down while in use, some technicians make roadside repairs or at construction or other worksites. Technicians work a 40-hour week (including at night and on weekend), and they may be required to work overtime, when necessary.
