Fleet maintenance technicians earned median annual salaries of $46,426 in 2022, according to PayScale.com. Ten percent of technicians earned $33,155, and 10 percent received $64,979 or more. Some fleet maintenance technicians receive bonuses, access to profit-sharing programs, and other non-salary–related financial awards. In 2022, PayScale.com reported that technicians received bonuses that ranged from $99 to $4,000 and profit-sharing awards of up to $1,000. It also reported that 73 percent of technicians it surveyed received health insurance, 64 percent received dental insurance, and 57 percent received vision insurance. Twenty-seven percent of technicians did not receive any health insurance benefits. Fringe benefits can also include such perks as paid vacation and sick days, access to an employer-sponsored retirement savings plan, and reimbursement for continuing education classes.
