Brownfield Redevelopment Specialists and Site Managers

Outlook

Brownfield redevelopment specialists and site managers will have good job prospects in the coming years, according to the O*Net Resource Center. Interest in redeveloping industrial and commercial properties will continue to grow, and brownfield specialists and site managers will continue to be needed to oversee redevelopment projects and teams. Developers, construction companies, engineering firms, and others will need their expertise to ensure remediation plans are compliant with environmental laws and regulations and that projects are completed according to budgets and schedules. The Department of Labor does not have data specifically for brownfield redevelopment specialists and site managers, but predicts that managers, all others not listed, will have average employment growth of 6 percent through 2028. As more brownfields are identified, however, and environmental remediation is needed for redevelopment, job opportunities will exist for redevelopment specialists and site managers.
