The most active national association for cancer registrars is the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), which counts a majority of registrars as its members. The NCRA is a non-profit organization which focuses on education, credentialing and advocacy; among its activities are mentoring programs, an extensive job bank, salary and workplace surveys, and national and state meetings and conferences designed to enhance the profession. Membership is voluntary, but benefits, such as networking, reduced costs for conferences and testing, and staying up to date on all aspects of the profession make membership a valuable resource.
