Canning and Preserving Industry Workers

Many food products are represented by trade associations in Washington, D.C. Some representative groups are: the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), which advocates for its constituency on issues like the environment, food safety, nutrition, and labor relations; the Consumer Brands Association (CBA), which lists its priorities as jobs, health, children, and helping those less fortunate; and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), which emphasizes the importance of science in making decisions about product safety; national defense, labeling and marketing; import/export requirements; and other food-related concerns.
