Unions and Associations
Broadcast meteorologists may be members of SAG-AFTRA (a union that represents the professional interests of television, radio, and other professionals), but most meteorologists do not belong to unions.
Many meteorologists are members of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, which offer educational and networking opportunities, certification, networking opportunities, and other resources. The Association of Certified Meteorologists is a membership organization for meteorologists who have earned the certified consulting meteorologist credential.
