Magicians

Aspiring magicians can find many opportunities for practice, especially given the fact that many everyday household items can be used in tricks, such as ropes, balls, and coins. There are many books, DVDs, online videos, as well as beginner magic kits, available that explain how to do the basic tricks. With a little practice and not much expense, anyone can put on a short magic show. In addition, some high schools or other organizations sponsor magic clubs, where those interested in magic can meet to discuss techniques.

Once you have developed and practiced a routine, perform for friends and family. Magic clubs may also give you opportunities to perform. Any chance to practice tricks in front of an audience will help to develop your skills and confidence as a magician.

Perhaps the best way to learn about becoming a magician is to work as a magician's assistant. In this position, you can observe how illusions are performed and also get a feel for the day-to-day demands of performing.
