Massage therapists do not belong to unions, but they can join the American Massage Therapy Association and Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. These organizations provide mentoring and networking opportunities, publications, continuing education, and other resources. The Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation accredits postsecondary massage therapy training programs. The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork provide certification and licensing to massage therapists.
