Unions and Associations
The International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America represents more than 27,000 security police professionals in the U.S. and Canada. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees also represents museum workers.
Museum attendants are not members of unions, but they can join the American Alliance of Museums, the largest service and advocacy organization for the museum field. It offers career information, publications, continuing education, publications, and networking opportunities. The Small Museum Association is a membership organizations for small museums in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
