Work Environment
Space meteorologists work full time in offices and laboratories. They may work weekdays during business hours or they may work in shifts that span evenings and weekends. When severe space weather events occur, they may work longer hours, to gather information, conduct research, and make forecasts. Some travel is involved to visit other space meteorology facilities for research, and for industry-related meetings and conferences.
