High School
There are no specific educational requirements for beginning stock clerks but employers prefer to hire high school graduates. Reading and writing skills and a basic knowledge of mathematics are necessary; typing and filing skills are also useful. As more companies install computerized inventory systems, a knowledge of computer science (especially database management) will be important.
