Stock Clerks

Stock clerks may be required to join a union, depending on where they work, such as the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union or the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. This is especially true of stock clerks who are employed by industry and who work in large cities with a high percentage of union-affiliated companies. The National Retail Federation is the world’s largest retail trade association. It represents discount and department stores, Main Street merchants, grocers, home goods and specialty stores, wholesalers, and other retailers from the United States and more than 45 countries.
