Work Environment
Some e-sports professionals compete from home or gaming houses, while others travel to tournaments and compete in front of thousands of fans. Competitions can be exciting when the coach’s team is winning and very stressful when they are losing or fighting to maintain a lead. On the other hand, it can be very rewarding to see players improve their abilities and perform well in competition. In addition to competition, coaches spend many hours (8 to 12 hours a day in some instances) leading scrims (i.e., scrimmages), meeting with assistant coaches, promoting their team and players on social media and through traditional media outlets, and performing other duties.
