Fashion designers are not represented by unions, but they can join professional associations such as the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Association of Sewing and Design Professionals, Custom Tailors and Designers Association, and Fashion Group International. The American Apparel & Footwear Association offers information on endorsed college programs, and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design is an educational accrediting agency. The United States Fashion Industry Association represents fashion brands, retailers, importers, and wholesalers.
