Concierges assist hotel guests and help make their stays pleasant and comfortable. Guests may use their services to book tours, airline reservations, or car rentals. Concierges are experts in what their particular city has to offer. Many times they may be asked to recommend restaurants, shows, or museums as well as give directions to other points of interest. Concierges may also be asked to plan cocktail receptions, dinner meetings, or small parties for hotel guests. There are approximately 13,420 hotel concierges employed in the United States.
