Human Services Workers

Unions and Associations

Human services workers can join unions such as the National Organization of Legal Services Workers, or local organizations that provide representation for their field or company. Workers can also join professional organizations, such as the National Organization for Human Services, which offers membership (including for high school and college students), hosts an annual conference, offers certification, publishes the Journal of Human Services, and provides other resources. Other useful organizations include the National Association of Social Workers, American Counseling Association, and associations at the state and local levels.
