Strength and Conditioning Coaches

Employment for exercise trainers and group fitness instructors is expected to grow by 14 percent, much faster than the average for all careers, from 2023 through 2033, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Job opportunities for coaches are also expected to grow much faster than the average during this time span. Strength and conditioning coaches will be increasingly relied on to provide athletes with the extra edge during competition. Competition for positions will continue to be keen, as it normally is for this profession—especially at the collegiate and professional levels. Strength and conditioning coaches who are certified and who have considerable experience will have the best chances for employment.
