Campaign Workers

Work Environment

The work can be very stressful and require long days and weekends during a campaign. A manager must be available to the candidate at all times. Campaign workers may work in an active, energetic office, sharing in the excitement of a candidate's pursuit of office. But they may also be discouraged by the apathy of the general public in regard to government and politics. The work can be tedious and exhausting, but those dedicated to a campaign usually receive recognition from the candidate, plus valuable experience that can lead to career advancement. These "psychic wages" can be a great morale booster for the campaign worker.
