Unions and Associations
Motivational speakers are not members of unions, but they can join professional organizations such as the National Speakers Association and the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers. These organizations provide networking opportunities, continuing education classes, and other resources. Some motivational speakers join Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. The organization has more than 270,000 members in over 14,000 clubs in 150 countries.
