Unions and Associations
Art teachers may join unions such as the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. Many art teachers join the National Art Education Association, which offers information on careers, networking opportunities, and other resources. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards provides voluntary national certification. The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation accredits teacher education programs.
