The median hourly pay of bricklayers was $28.67 in May 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). A person working full time at this pay rate would have annual earnings of approximately $59,640. Of course, earnings for those who work outside can be affected by bad weather, and earnings are lower for workers in areas where the local economy is in a slump. The pay also varies according to geographic region.

The beginning hourly rate for apprentices is between 30 to 50 percent of the rate for experienced workers. Their pay rate increases as they gain experience.

In addition to regular pay, various fringe benefits, such as health and life insurance, pensions, and paid vacations, are available to many workers in this field.
