Biofabrication Technicians

A skilled biofabrication technician with a bachelor’s degree in bioscience, bioengineering, or a related field can become a biofabrication technologist, who works on higher-level tasks and may also have supervisory duties. Technicians who earn a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering or bioscience are also qualified to work as bioengineers, biomedical engineers, or biomaterials scientists—although the best jobs go to those with graduate degrees. Technicians who earn degrees in project management, business management, or a related field may advance to high-level managerial—or even executive-level—positions at their employers. Some choose to open their own consulting firms. Others teach in apprenticeship programs or at community colleges and four-year universities.
