Geothermal Production Managers

Work Environment

Geothermal production managers work in geothermal power plant facilities or oil well fields. They work indoors as well as outdoors. They spend time monitoring equipment and overseeing workers. They wear protective equipment, such as safety goggles and a helmet, when they work in the production area of geothermal plants. They also spend time in offices, using computers for e-mail, data analysis, to read and create reports, and for other job duties. Geothermal production managers work full time. Production plants are in operation 24/7 so managers may work in shifts, such as night and weekend shifts. They also work overtime when problems arise or production deadlines approach.
