Experience, Skills, and Personality Traits

Several years of experience in ecological restoration and protection are required for rewilders. This experience can be obtained through a combination of full- and part-time work, internships, cooperative education experiences, and volunteer positions.

The ideal rewilder has a deep understanding of environmental issues and ecological restoration and protective practices; strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management ability; and top-notch communication and interpersonal skills. Other important traits include an enthusiastic personality, determination, flexibility, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
