Forensic Engineers

Outlook

Overall employment in engineering occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2023 to 2033, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Job opportunities for engineers vary by specialty. For example, employment for aerospace, civil, and materials engineers is expected to grow faster than the average through 2033. Much-faster-than-average employment growth is predicted for chemical, electrical and electronics, industrial, and mechanical engineers. Steady employment for forensic engineers is expected because workers with this type of specialized technical expertise are in short supply.

Engineers have traditionally enjoyed great employment security because their work is so essential to maintaining and advancing America’s infrastructure and industry. Even in times of economic decline, engineers’ jobs are generally safe. Engineers who stay current concerning the latest technologies and remain flexible in regards to type of employer, location, and other factors will most likely ensure themselves of employment for years to come.
