Starting salaries for this position depend partly on the experience and education of the coordinator and partly upon the size and location of the day care center. Larger centers located in metropolitan areas tend to offer the highest wages. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, The median annual wage for social and human service assistants, which can include adult day care coordinators, was $41,410 in May 2023. The lowest 10 percent earned about $30,730 annually, and the top 10 percent of workers in this field earned around $61,820 per year. Generally, coordinators who do not have a bachelor's degree can expect to earn somewhat less. Experienced coordinators with a bachelor's degree employed in large, well-funded centers may earn considerably more. In addition to salary, some coordinators are also offered a benefits package, which typically includes health insurance, paid vacation and sick days, and a retirement plan.
