Clinic managers are expected to have excellent job opportunities. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, much faster than average employment growth (28 percent) is predicted for medical and health services managers through 2032. Clinics are becoming larger and more complex, and more people are turning to them as alternatives to hospitals for medical treatments and services. The large baby-boom population that is aging, yet still remaining active, will also contribute to rapid job growth in this field, as this group will be in high need of outpatient services in the coming years. The increased demand for doctors, health care workers, medical procedures, and health care clinics and facilities will also mean increased demand for clinic managers. They will be needed to ensure clinics are operating smoothly and efficiently and that patients are receiving quality care and satisfied with their health care services. Clinic managers will also be needed to ensure that the clinics' employees are performing their work according to established policies and procedures, and that they are motivated and satisfied in their work.
Clinic managers with a master's degree in health administration or related field, prior healthcare industry experience, and knowledge of health information technology will have the advantage in the job market.
